Frederick Buechner had more reason than most to “steel himself against the harshness of reality.”

As a young boy, Buechner led a fairly usual life. He sang songs and listened to stories. He learned to swim and ride a bike.

Accidents and Opportunities

On Friday, April 4, my wife and son were involved in an auto accident (here are the posts on the prayer board). They were stopped in traffic when a truck rear-ended them and totaled our car. Luckily, with the exception of my wife's whiplash, nobody was hurt. What did surprise us in the next few days was the reoccurring theme of litigation.
