The Fshbwl

Land of Narnia

This past weekend, Prince Caspian, a continuation of the Chronicles of Narnia series which first appeared in the box office with, The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe, ruled the box office.

Dr. Francis Rossow has spent years studying the writings of C.S. Lewis and teaches a class on the Gospel in Lewis' writings at Concordia Seminary in St. Louis, Missouri. In this edition of Semcast, Dr. Dale Meyer, President of Concordia Seminary, talks with Dr. Rossow about Lewis' Narnia series.

While Semcast's target audience isn't quite the same as the fshbwl, there are some wonderful segments in the video on the power of metaphor and seeking out new ways of communicating a timeless message.

One of the best classes

I took Rev's first Gospel and Lewis class, and I must say that it was one of the best classes that I took at the Seminary. It opened my eyes not just to seeing the Gospel in Lewis' books but all literature. This class also lead me to begin looking at the Gospel even in music and now movies. It has really shaped how I view those 'secular' things that I love. Thanks Rev!
